A whole fryer chicken can be used to make a handful of different meals, and is a great way to feed a large group of people. There are three different classifications for whole chickens. A broiler is a six to eight week old chicken that weighs about 2 ½ pounds. A fryer is a six to eight week old chicken that weighs between 2 ½ and 3 ½ pounds. A roaster is any chicken that is less than eight months old and weighs more than 3 ½ pounds. Here at Butcher Boys, we offer the most savory whole fryer chickens available anywhere. Our chickens are farm-raised without the use of antibiotics or hormones, and we carefully de-feather and clean them ourselves in our Vancouver butcher shop. If you prefer, we will include the neck and giblets with your whole fryer.
